Brooklyn Nets G Bojan Bogdanovic and F/C Mason Plumlee have been named as participants for this year’s Rising Stars Challenge as part of the 2015 All-Star Weekend in New York City. This year’s teams have been split up into American and International players, meaning Plumlee and Bogdanovic will be competing on opposite teams.
Plumlee, who will be competing in the event for the second straight year, he has been a bright spot for the Nets in a lost season. Plumlee has averaged 10.4 PPG, 6.7 RPG and has a PER of 20.16. Plumlee will also be participating in the Slam-Dunk Contest.
Bogdanovic, however, has been a bit of a disappointment this year. The Croatian rookie is only averaging 7.4 PPG in just under 23 minutes per game, despite high expectations. Bogdanovic will look to make a name for himself in this event in front of his homecrowd.
Other notables players in this event include 76ers PG Michael Carter-Williams, Jazz PG Trey Burke, Celtics C Kelly Olynyk, Magic G Victor Oladipo and Minnesota Timberwolves G Andrew Wiggins.
