The Knicks struck an 11th hour, 59th minute deal Thursday to deal veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Alexey Shved.
New York, Houston, and the Philadelphia 76ers all pulled off a late deal that send Prigioni to Houston, along with Sixers forward KJ McDaniels. Isaiah Canaan, a former college superstar at Murray State, is heading to Philadelphia for a second round pick. The Knicks, in return, will receive two second round picks as well as Shved. The picks will be for the 2017 and 2019 drafts.
Over the course of the season, Prigioni has averaged 4.7 points per game, 2.4 assists per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 42.2% from the field and 37.4% from behind the arc over 43 games. Prigioni’s tenure in New York lasted two and a half seasons.
Thus far this season, Shved has averaged 7.6 points per game, 1.9 assists per game, 1.0 rebound per game, and 0.6 steals per game while shooting 39% from the field and 30.4% from behind the arc over 26 games this season.
