The Brooklyn Nets have signed PF Thomas Robinson
Update: New details have emerged in the Robinson deal. Robinson will clear waivers at 5 p.m. EST and will then sign a 10-day deal with the Nets, although the Nets are expected to sign him for the rest of the season according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
The news was first reported by Wojnarowski.
The Nets seemed to be undecided between signing former Net Andray Blatche and Robinson. You can read more about that here. Robinson was recently acquired by the Denver Nuggets in the Arron Afflalo deal and was subsequently waived by Denver.
With Robinson signed the Nets’ roster now sits at the league maximum of 15 players.
What does Robinson bring to the Nets? Robinson is a raw prospect, only 23-years-old in his third year in the league. The Kansas alum is incredibly athletic and a solid rebounder for his size. Robinson has not received big minutes in his career, but being drafted fifth overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2012 draft certainly signals that he has potential.
On the season Robinson is averaging 3.6 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game on 51% shooting. Per-36 minutes Robinson’s statistics look like this: 10.6 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Of course it is hard to forget this block by the big man.
