Former New York Knicks forward Anthony Mason passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 48.
He died from congestive heart failure, which he suffered from following a severe heart attack earlier this month.
Mason played in the NBA for 13 seasons, five of which were in New York. He quickly developed into a fan favorite in the Big Apple thanks to his tenacity and utmost effort on the court night in and night out.
He won the Sixth Man of the Year Award in the 1994-95 season, after helping lead the Knicks to the NBA Finals the season before.
Twitter reacted to his passing early Saturday morning.
Please keep Anthony Mason and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest in Peace, “Mase”. You’ll be missed.
