The New York Giants have re-signed linebacker Mark Herzlich, the deal is for two years, other than that other contract details have not been released.
Herzlich had a breakout year with the Giants in 2014. Before the season, Herzlich made nearly all of his contributions on special teams, but Herzlich did start eight games for the Giants last year, and recorded a career-high 52 tackles along with his first career sack. Along with those career-highs, Herzlich played a career-high 319 defensive snaps.
With Herzlich back on the roster, along with Jon Beason, Jameel McClain, Devon Kennard, J.T. Thomas and Jonathan Casillas all on the Giants’ roster, playing time at LB will be hard to come by for Herzlich.
However, Herzlich is an ever consistent presence on special teams and will always be there to start if the opportunity arises so this is a good signing by the Giants.
