After over a year of uncertainty, it has finally happened. Polarizing Yankees figure Alex Rodriguez has surpassed MLB legend Willie Mays four fourth all time on the MLB home run list with home run 661.
The solo shot came off Orioles starting pitcher Chris Tillman on a hanging changeup that A-Rod drilled to center field to not only break the 2-2 tie in the game, but break the 660 tie between him and Mays.
The Yankees fans are clearly back on the troubled third basemen’s side, giving him a standing ovation and curtain call after the historical homer.
That was Rodriguez’s 7th home run on the year, second to Mark Teixiera on the Yankees.
Rodriguez nearly had a home run on his first at bat, getting robbed by Delmon Young.
He then countered with the record breaking shot here.
