New York Yankees Relief Pitcher Chris Martin has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with an undisclosed injury. In his place, the Yankees have called up RP Brandon Pinder.
Martin was solid out of the Yankees dominant pen this year, pitching 12 and 2/3 innings, posting a 3.55 ERA.
In his place, RP Brandon Pinder will be called up. This is the second time he has been promoted to the majors this season, pitching two scoreless innings in the big leagues this season. At Triple A, he posted a 2.63 ERA in 13 and 2/3 innings pitched.
The Yankees bullpen has been phenomenal this season, and losing Martin will be a minor blow, but Brandon Pinder is very capable of replicating his success.
