For the first time in Madden History, a New York Giant will grace the cover. Rookie sensation Odell Beckham Jr. has won the fan vote and will grace the cover of Madden NFL 16.
Beckham Jr. originally was one of the final four candidates alongside Steelers WR Antonio Bryant, Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson, and Pats TE Ron Gronkowski.
Beckham and Gronk moved on to the finals, where Beckham ultimately prevailed.
Beckham is the third wide receiver to grace the cover of the massively popular football game series, joining Larry Fitzgerald who appeared with Troy Polamalu on Madden 10’s cover, and most recently Calvin Johnson who was on Madden 13’s cover.
As mentioned before, Beckham is also the first Giant to appear on the cover. Eli Manning, Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Tuck all appeared on voting polls, but none ultimately won.
The Giants wideout was a rookie last season and took the league by storm. After missing the first four games, OBJ racked up 91 catches for 1,305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in the final 12 games. Him and Victor Cruz are expected to form one of the deadliest WR duos in the NFL next season.
The game will be released on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, WiiU, and PC. It will retail for 65 dollars and release in late August.
