The New York Yankees continued their bullpen shuffle today, adding yet another arm in lefty middle reliever Jose DePaula.
DePaula has yet to pitch a major league game, but the Dominican has been lights out this season for Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. In 17 and 2/3 innings pitched, DePaula has a 1.53 ERA with 8 strikeouts and just three walks.
To clear way, fellow reliever Jose Ramirez will likely be sent back down to Scranton. He’s struggled this season, giving up five runs in just three innings for a disastrous 15.00 ERA.
The Yankees have been forced to reshuffle their bullpen as of late due to injuries and poor pitching performances. The latest blow was a 2/3 of an inning outing by Nathan Eovaldi, exhausting the bullpen.
