Austin Hollins, son of Brooklyn Nets’ Head Coach Lionel Hollins is set to play for the Nets’ summer league team.
Last season Hollins suited up for Denain in France. Before that, Hollins had a solid college career for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. In 2014, Hollins won the NIT tournament and brought home the tournament’s MVP award. In the 2013-14 season, Hollins averaged 12.4 ppg, 5 rpg and 2.4 apg.
Hollins most attractive attribute is his defense, but he is serviceable on the other end of the floor.
Don’t expect Hollins to be on the Nets’ roster on the end of the season, rather his father is giving him the chance to show his talent so he will later be picked up by a D-League team or head back overseas.
