The Yankees’ bullpen has suffered two more setbacks with both recent callup Sergio Santos and LHP Jacob Lindgren set to miss significant time due to injury.
Santos, who was recently signed will undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the MLB season. After Santos was placed on the 15-day DL for elbow inflammation Bryan Mitchell was called up and pitched three innings on Saturday. Mitchell has since been sent down with Danny Burawa taking his place in the Majors.
As said in the tweet above, Lindgren is expected to be out for under 12 weeks due to the injury.
In other injury news for the Yankees, Mason Williams has been placed on the 15-day DL and Ramon Flores has been called up to replace Williams.
