New York Yankees utility infielder Brendan Ryan’s nightmare season is continuing. He will be placed on the DL for the third time this season with a back injury.
The official injury is being deemed a left thoratic sprain, and will be out a minimum of two weeks.
Ryan also struggled with back and hamstring issues earlier in the season, causing him to miss the entirety of April and May. He actually was playing well since his return as well, hitting .308 with two RBI’s in 6 games played.
In a corresponding roster move, Ivan Nova has been activated from the 60 day DL and will pitch tonight. He is coming off Tommy John Surgery.
