21. Wesley Matthews – Unrestricted Free Agent (Torn Achilles, To Return in August)

2014-15 Statistics: 15.9 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, 1.3 steals per game || 45% FG, 39% 3PT, 75% FT

Matthews joined the Blazers in 2010 and has since turned himself into one of the elite two way players in the NBA. On the offensive end Matthews is a deadeye from long range, he can shoot running off screens, in catch and shoot situations, off the dribble and he’s very dangerous on a fast break.

He often gets run off the three point line and Matthews is able to put the ball on the floor and create a mid range jump shot for himself. The six year player is an elite perimeter defender, Matthews is able to stay in front of his man and he has active hands which often create steals. Matthews is also able to guard the one through three positions.

Matthews ability to rain down long bombs as well as his stellar defense make him a perfect fit for the Knicks and he’s an ideal target.

(He has slipped due to his injury as many players take a long time to recover and find their rhythm after suffering achilles injuries)

  1. I think the Knicks should focus on the 1 and 2 spots to have someone who can lead the team in scoring, other than Carmelo Anthony, hence, we need someone who can “team up” and take over with Carmelo.

  2. We should focus more on the 1 and 2 spots since we already have bigs due to Knicks’ roster and adding on Kristaps Porzingis at No. 4.
