The New York Knicks have completed their first transaction of this free agency period.
New York have agreed to terms with former Portland Trailblazers guard, Arron Afflalo. The deal is over two seasons worth $16 million and the second year of the contract is a player option.
The 29-year-old has eight seasons under his belt with four teams. Afflalo averaged 13.3 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game on 43% shooting from the field and 36% shooting from long range last season.
He will reunite with Carmelo Anthony who he was teammates with in Denver. This agreement means that the Knicks still have $19 million available to spend on other free agents.
