The New York Knicks are displaying interest in Wizards’ free agent center, Kevin Seraphin, according to Sheridan Hoops.
Seraphin, a native of France and a 6’10 forward / center, has spent five seasons in the NBA, all of which have been with the Washington Wizards. He has career averages of 6.4 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 0.8 blocks per game. He has shot 49% from the floor and 72% from the line over his five year career.
Seraphin’s best attribute is his low post game. He’s very good at backing his man down and finishing over either shoulder with a hook or fadeaway. When he is left uncontested from 12-15 feet away, Seraphin is a quality shooter. He converted 47% of his attempts from that range last season. The Frenchman is a liability on the defensive end as he lacks any real ability to defend on or off ball. Although, one positive or sign of potential is that he has 265 pound frame.
One of New York’s last remaining needs is a back-up center and Seraphin could be the answer. He is also attracting interest from the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards.
